Growing foreign tourist arrivals to the Dominican

Santo Domingo. – Two million 900 thousand foreign tourists visited the Dominican Republic during the first seven months of this year, states a report today by the Central Bank on this economic sector.

The figure represents an increase of 7.2 percent over the same period of 2011, when two million 700 thousand foreigners.

According to the document, the increase is due, among other reasons, to the successful promotion of tourism deployed by public and private sectors.

In July, says the text, Dominican received by air 453 000 826 foreign visitors, 20 000 810 more than in the same month last year.

North America was the region in the 31 days of issuance of tourists increased with 141 000 552.
